Our next public concert is in Scranton, Pennsylvania, June 21 st, 2:00 PM at Temple Hesed’s Pell Auditorium, 1 Knox Road, Scranton PA 18505.

Ever since we performed in Hampton, Virginia last month, many NPR affiliates have contacted us with interest in the band and our music. Specifically, over the past month, we have had six NPR affiliates in the mid-Atlantic region request music for air play. Some of these stations have asked us to provide specific information about the music, such as the history behind specific tunes, how the music was composed or arranged by the band, and which tunes are the most popular. This last question is where we invite you to participate and give us your opinion.

These radio stations have asked us to provide a “best of” sampling of our recorded music. However, we thought that you might be able to help us answer that question, perhaps doing a better job of it than we can. So, we are asking for your opinion. There are three CD’s involved that we are going to work from. The first is our latest CD,” Unexpected Joy”. This is a New Klezmer Quintet recording. The other two, titled “In The Beginning” and “Live – In Concert”, were recorded by our sister band, The Kol Haruach Klezmer Band. Kol Haruach plays more of the popular standards and is strictly a party band, while The New Klezmer Quintet goes beyond just performing standards by writing and arranging original compositions and performing them in concert.

Let us know which tunes you like best (use the form below). With the input from you, we will take the top tunes chosen, and will print a “best of” CD. We will not only provide this compilation to NPR, but will take these tunes and combine them with some of our original and very popular new music not yet released, and offer this for sale to the public as a “best of” CD.
